Adipurush movie review and release live updates: Critics call it ‘epic disappointment’

Helmed by Om Raut, the much-awaited movie of the year Adipurush was released in theaters worldwide on June 16, 2023. Starring south superstar Prabhas, actress Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles, Adipurush is an adaptation of Ramayana and is reportedly made at a whopping budget of Rs 600 crore. While Prabhas plays the character of Lord Ram, Sair Ali Khan plays the character of Ravana, the demon king. On the other hand, Kriti Sanon plays the character ‘Sita’ in the movie. With the movie finally released in theaters, Adipurush Review is also out and it is full of mixed reactions. While Prabhas fans are lauding the movie Adipurush, a section of people on social media slammed Om Raut over its disappointing VFX and animation. Now, veteran film-critic named Taran Adarsh has also given Adipurush Review.

 

Adipurush- hit or flop?
As per a report, Adipurush has already recovered nearly 85% of its budget before it releases in theatres on Friday, June 16. As per the report, the Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan co-starring film has managed to recover a whopping Rs 432 crore of its reported Rs 500 crore budget. Along with this, the Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan co-starrer have raked in Rs 185 crore as a minimum guarantee from its theatrical revenue in the South. With these numbers taken into account, the upcoming T-Series film has already recovered Rs 432 crore, aka 86.4% of its Rs 500 crore budget, before it hits screens.

Notably, in another incident, a video was shared on Reddit on Friday alleging that a person spoke about the film. The video was shared with the caption, “Prabhas fans beating up a guy because he gave negative review of Adipurush.” As per Reddit users, he didn’t like the film. A Reddit user wrote, “Just now seen video of the reviewer. He praised Prabhas for Bahubhali but criticised him for Adipurush.” The person also added, “Never ever speak the truth in front of mad fans. It applies to cricket, politics, movies etc. Mad fans can’t take criticism.”
