A Katana Police Sergeant assigned to the intelligence section has reportedly had his employment suspended by Sri Lanka Police due to allegations of negligence during the terror attacks on Easter Sunday of this year.
The Police Media Unit responded to the situation and stated that the required action was carried out in compliance with a mandate from the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
They further mentioned that a charge sheet against the officer was submitted under 12 accusations of disciplinary infraction following a preliminary inquiry into the incident.
Thus, once the accused officer had acknowledged to the allegations made against him, the IGP had ordered the relevant Sergeant’s removal.
