According to the Saudi Ministry of Health, an Iranian pilgrim in his 60s underwent life-saving open heart surgery on Sunday at King Abdullah Medical City’s Heart Health Center in Makkah. His coronary arteries had narrowed and become blocked, culminating in an abrupt heart attack.
According to Hatem Al-Masoudi, the Makkah Healthcare Cluster’s official spokeswoman, “The Iranian pilgrim made a full recovery after receiving integrated medical services provided by specialized medical teams.” He continued by saying that all medical staff members are well equipped to assist pilgrims around-the-clock in the holy city and at other sacred locations.
“Serving and taking care of pilgrims is an honor all workers seek to achieve during Hajj season,” he added.
“It is also an opportunity for them to project the quality of their services and the sophistication in dealing with all aspects thanks to the accumulated experiences they have gained working during Hajj season for decades.”
The five-hour procedure, according to the ministry, was followed by the patient’s transfer to the intensive care unit for additional observation. He has recovered well and is getting ready to start doing his religious rites once more.
The King Abdullah Medical City’s Heart Health Center is known for the skill of its highly trained and experienced team in carrying out such surgeries. In keeping with the resolve of authorities in the Kingdom to guarantee the health and well-being of all citizens, residents, and pilgrims, it is supported by the Saudi government and the Health Ministry.
