Freight train derails on Upcountry Line

Around 8 a.m. on June 23, a freight train operating on the Upcountry Line derailed.

When it derailed between Talawakelle and Watagoda railway stations, the train was traveling from Kandy to Badulla.

According to reports, the situation is causing delays for Upcountry Line train operations.

As a result, utilizing buses, passengers on trains headed for Colombo Fort that depart from Badulla and trains headed for Colombo Fort that depart from Badulla will be switched at Talawakelle, Hatton, and Nanu-Oya railway stations.
