In their ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier match in Bulawayo versus Scotland, Sri Lanka was bowled out for 245 runs.
With 203 for 4 in the 39th over, Sri Lanka was in a good position, but their innings was completely destroyed when they lost five wickets for 25 runs.
The spinners from Scotland, Christopher Greaves and Mark Watt, shared seven wickets between them. Greaves, a leg spinner, took 4 for 32, and Watt finished with 3 for 52.
Greaves’ dismissals of Dhananjaya de Silva and Dasun Shanaka off consecutive deliveries in the 40th over set off the collapse.
With 63 off 65, Asalanka had batted superbly but was eventually bowled by Watt in the subsequent over.
Before a 17-run final wicket partnership between Kasun Rajitha and Lahiru Kumara made sure Sri Lanka’s innings continued into the final over, the pair chipped away at the Lankan batting.
