As a result of the derailment that was reported on Tuesday (June 27), train operations on the Kelani Valley Line were still disrupted this morning.

Despite the fact that the derailed train was put back on the tracks, Sri Lanka Railways claims that the tracks are still in need of repair.

07 trains that were planned to run this morning have been canceled as a result.

The railway department has chosen to run the trains up to Narahenpita station, though, in order to lessen the annoyance to travellers.

All trains planned to run on the Kelani Valley Line were canceled on Tuesday evening after two carriages of a train traveling from Colombo Fort to Avissawella derailed close to the Cotta Road railway station.
