Tomorrow, June 30, from 9.30 am to 12 pm, a special traffic plan will be in effect in Kandy, according to the Sri Lanka Police.
The traffic strategy is being put into place in anticipation of a state occasion where President Ranil Wickremesinghe will be presented with credentials from 12 newly appointed ambassadors.
The following roads will not permit roadside car parking between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., according to the police.
Although drivers are allowed to use the same routes that foreign envoys are using, the police warned that vehicular mobility would be limited while the convoys of official cars were present.
As a result, the following routes will use the special traffic plan:
• D.S. Senanayake Veediya
• Stretch of road from Municipal Council Junction to Queen’s Hotel
• Dalada Veediya
• Stretch of road from Queen’s Hotel junction to Kotugodella Veediya junction on Dalada Veediya
• Stretch of road from Raja Veediya junction to Dalada Veediya junction on Kotugodella Road
• Stretch of road from Raja Veediya junction on Kotugodella Veediya to President’s House
