The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau recorded an earthquake in the waters off Sri Lanka that measured 5.8 on the Richter Scale.
As a result, tremors have been felt throughout the island as a result of today’s (July 1) earthquake, which was believed to have occurred in the sea 1,260 kilometers to the southeast of Sri Lanka and was nearly 10 kilometers deep.
