According to the State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the call for applications for the interest-free student loan scheme to be offered to 5,000 students who took the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination in the academic years 2019, 2020, and 2021 will begin tomorrow (July 4).
The State Minister made it clear that students who receive the appropriate loan facility must enroll in courses that are career-focused.
“The initiative to offer 5,000 students interest-free loans for their graduate courses at private universities in 2019 and 2020 and 2021 has been authorized. The state minister noted that the Ministry of Education is now expected to make the announcement.
Accordingly, from July 4 to July 7, students who took the G.C.E. A/L test in 2019 or 2020 or 2021 are eligible to apply for this loan program, according to Siyambalapitiya.
He continued by saying that the government made this unique decision because higher education is needed in the nation and that it will bear all costs associated with this program for the benefit of the kids’ education.
The state minister emphasized that there, classes that are focused on finding employment are given precedence.
