On Tuesday (04 July), the list of those who qualify for welfare assistance for the elderly, the disabled, and the ill was made public.
The relevant list is therefore already on display in several divisional secretariats and Grama Niladhari offices on the island, according to the Welfare Benefits Board (WBB), which also said that the list would be made available to the public at all of the aforementioned offices across the nation starting tomorrow (05 July).
The eligibility lists for the ‘Aswesuma’ welfare benefit scheme have also been updated with the addition of the lists approved by the Social Empowerment and Welfare and Health Ministries, with no changes made to the lists of those eligible. The usual allowances for the elderly, those with disabilities, and kidney patients will also be provided.
