After a bus transporting pilgrims collided with a stationary container truck at Ambanpola this morning (10), two people have been reported deceased and at least 29 others have been injured, according to the Police.
According to reports, the bus was transporting a group of pilgrims who had just visited the Kuragala Ancient Buddhist Monastery and were heading home.
A 32-year-old passenger and a 71-year-old passenger, both Thalawa locals, are among the dead.
The Galgamuwa Hospital is treating 18 female patients and 4 male patients, while the Abanpola Hospital is treating 6 female patients and 1 male patient.
