Sri Lanka’s petroleum products licensing regulations gazetted

Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekara has published an Extraordinary Gazette notification outlining the Petroleum Products Licensing Regulations for the import, export, selling, or supply of petroleum products in Sri Lanka.

On the advice and recommendation of the Committee formed under section 3 of that Act, the Minister of Power and Energy issued the rule pursuant to section 7 of the Petroleum Products (Special Provisions) Act, No. 33 of 2002 read with sections 5 and 6.

The Petroleum Products Licensing Regulations No.1 of 2023, as cited in the gazette, state that they must be followed by anyone who receives a license to import, export, sell, supply, or distribute petroleum in Sri Lanka in accordance with Section 5 of the Act.
