A fisherman with burn injuries was helped to land by the Sri Lanka Navy yesterday (11), after he had a mishap while riding on a local multiday fishing boat.

The Navy claims that the sad situation occurred to the fisherman while he was at sea some 431 nautical miles (798 km) off the Galle coast.

On June 22, the “Sachintha Putha” multiday fishing trawler and its five (05) crew men sailed off for the fishing grounds.

A fisherman who was aboard the local fishing trawler and was on the high seas southwest of Sri Lanka when it apparently collided with a foreign vessel sustained burn injuries as a result of an attack by the foreign vessel.
