The burning of the Quran in Sweden has drawn criticism from Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who emphasised that it is against religious freedom and cannot be justified as free speech.
He criticises the HRC’s inaction in Geneva and warns that if they categorise it as such, there might be a gulf between the values of the Global South and those of the West.
