A price reduction of Rs. 1,000 for a 50kg sack of muriate of potash (MOP) fertiliser was announced by the government on Friday, July 14.
Consequently, a sack of MOP now costs Rs. 14,000 in India.
Mahinda Amaraweera, the minister of agriculture, announced that the price cut would begin on Saturday, July 15.
