The All Ceylon Nurses’ Union has announced that it will begin a series of protests against the alleged distribution of subpar medications to hospitals throughout the island starting today (July 17).
S. B. Madiwatta, the association’s secretary, announced that protests will also be held this afternoon with the involvement of health sector employees from a few chosen hospitals.
As a result of the anticipated protests, officials are said to have increased security around the Colombo National Hospital.
