An increase has been reported in gold prices in Sri Lanka today, according to local gold merchants.
The local gold merchants stated that global gold prices have increased to US$ 1,977 which is a US$ 25 increase in comparison to yesterday.
Accordingly, the price of a 22-karat sovereign has increased from last Friday’s rate of Rs.154,500 to Rs.157,250 today.
Meanwhile, the price of a 24-karat gold sovereign has also increased from Friday’s rate of Rs.167,000 to Rs.170,000.
