Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha members’ terms of office have been extended through a special gazette notification issued by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.
According to a statement from July 19th, this local government body’s tenure has been extended till November 4th, 2024.
In his capacity as Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, PM Gunawardena published the gazette.
According to the decree published in Gazette Extraordinary No. 2151/23 on November 26, 2019, the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha members’ terms began on November 5th, 2019.
