According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Lanka ratified the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT), making it the 178th state to do so.
On Tuesday, July 25, at the UN Headquarters in New York, the CTBT’s instrument of ratification—the legal document by which a State declares its agreement to be bound by the agreement—was filed with the UN Office of Legal Affairs (UNOLA).
Sri Lanka’s status as a signatory is upgraded to that of a full State Party to the Treaty by depositing the CTBT instrument of ratification.
