This weekend, Yoshimasa Hayashi, the Japanese minister of foreign affairs, will travel to Sri Lanka on business.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that Yoshimasa will travel to Sri Lanka on July 28 and 29, 2023.

The Japanese Foreign Minister will pay courtesy calls on President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena during his tour, as well as hold official discussions with Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry at the Ministry.

22 members of the ministry’s delegation, including senior foreign policy coordinator Manabu Murakami, director general of Southeast and Southwest Asian affairs Yutaka Arima, director general of international cooperation Kazuya Endo, and deputy press secretary Yukiko Okano, will accompany Japan’s foreign affairs minister, Yoshimasa Hayashi.

The team will also stop at a Japanese ODA (Official Development Assistance) facility in Sri Lanka.
