The Colombo Fort Chief Magistrate has ordered the release on bail of Wasantha Mudalige, the former convenor of the Inter-University Students’ Federation (IUSF), who was detained yesterday (July 27).
Yesterday, Cinnamon Garden Police detained two people, among them the former IUSF convener, in connection with a 2020 incident.
Based on a warrant issued against the pair for the inconvenience they created during a protest held in front of the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 2020, the arrest had been made.
