According to the Export Development Board (EDB), a five-year strategic plan is now being created to increase Sri Lanka’s exports. This plan, according to a statement from the Board, intends to boost Sri Lanka’s exports to USD 31.3 billion by 2027.
The official organisation for the promotion and development of exports added that the strategy also calls for a 10% annual increase in Sri Lanka’s market share in the top 10 currently active export markets.
The USA, UK, India, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, and France are among the top 10 markets. In the meantime, 10-15 viable new markets will also be found, and the chosen markets’ market shares will grow by 5% annually.
