According to Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, the Minister of Plantation Industries and Minister of Industries, the second Coconut Triangle, which would include the districts of Jaffna, Mannar, and Mulaitvu, will be introduced this year in the Northern Province.
According to Minister Pathirana, the second Coconut Triangle will be unveiled on September 2 in connection with World Coconut Day.
The Minister added that 290 million kg more of tea were expected to be exported this year.
The Minister emphasised that Sri Lankan tea’s price per kilo on the world market for tea is stable and that it must be kept that way by maintaining the tea’s quality.
