According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), all political party leaders have been requested to submit their ideas and recommendations for the 13th Amendment to the Constitution by August 15 at the latest.
Political party leaders have received this written information from Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe stressed the significance of debating the 13th constitutional amendment with all parties because it is a topic that affects the entire country at the all-party meeting called on July 26.
He also emphasised that all pertinent parties should be involved in the decision-making process.
The purpose of the conference was to provide party leaders in the Parliament with an update on the North-East Development Plan and the National Reconciliation Programme.
