The Sri Lanka Automobile Association’s registration has been suspended, according to a Gazette Extraordinary that has been published.
The statement was released on Wednesday (August 9) by Roshan Ranasinghe, the minister of sports.
A provisional seven-person committee has been formed to oversee the association’s operations in the interim.
A prominent public administrator named Mr. Mahesh Gammanpila has been named the chairman of the aforementioned committee, while Major General (Retd) Indunil Ranasinghe and Pubudu Wickrama have been named as the secretary and treasurer, respectively.
Rameesh Mahamur, Nishan Weerasuriya, Champika Amarasekara, and Sajad Suhair are additional committee members.
