Sri Lanka signs MoU with Singapore to collaborate on carbon credits

Today (22 August), Sri Lanka and Singapore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate together on carbon credits under the terms of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

Countries have the chance to work effectively together to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions through international carbon trading under the terms of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.

As a result, the governments of Singapore and Sri Lanka reached an arrangement today afternoon about carbon neutrality within the parameters of the Paris Agreement.
In the presence of Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President Ranil Wickremesinghe, the MOU was formally signed.

On Monday, August 21, President Wickremesinghe departed for a two-day official visit in Singapore.
