The start of the second phase of the UK aid initiative to Sri Lanka has been discussed between Sri Lanka and the UK Department of Health and Social Care.

The conversation took place yesterday (August 23) at the Temple Trees in Colombo during a meeting between Acting British High Commissioner Lisa Whanstall and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena.

The UK Department of Health and Social Care’s Fleming Fund sent a delegation, according to the Prime Minister’s Office, to the discussion.

The health care funding scheme, which was suspended for the last few years because to the COVID-19 pandemic, will begin in January 2024, according to Acting British High Commissioner Lisa Whanstal.
