According to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has shown a great deal of sensitivity to the needs of its cherished neighbour, Sri Lanka, during their difficult times.

The Global Sovereign Debt Roundtable, a joint initiative of the IMF, World Bank, and the G20 Presidency, was created earlier this year to speed up efforts at global debt restructuring, according to the PM in an exclusive interview with PTI late last week.

He continued, “This will improve communication among important stakeholders and support efficient debt relief.”

As India seeks to forge agreement at the upcoming G20 meeting to devise a concrete framework to aid the debt-ridden low-income economies, Prime Minister Modi has stated that the debt crisis is of tremendous concern to the globe, particularly emerging countries.
