According to Finance State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the Social Security Contribution Levy (SSCL) has been waived for local paddy production and equipment utilised by people with special needs.
He stated this today (Sept. 06) in a message on social media network X, formerly known as Twitter.
The purchase of paddy as well as the production and sale of rice were exempt from the Social Security Contribution Levy after approval from the Cabinet of Ministers in February 2023.
