The public and former villagers of the drowned village have visited the village remains at the drought-stricken Moragahakanda reservoir in the Matale District.

Houses, schools, businesses, and places of worship can be found among the village’s ruins.

Although there has been a lot of rain in some places of Sri Lanka, such as Moragahakanda, there has been less rain overall, which has caused ruins to appear in reservoirs.

After the reservoir’s waters had full, a number of villages had been flooded, and the residents had relocated.

Apparently, some of the sunken communities’ people are now residing 30 kilometres from the ruins.
