The nation’s education programmes would be shielded from political influence and consolidated under a single legal framework, according to President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Speaking on Thursday, September 7, at Eppawala Siddhartha Central College’s 150th anniversary celebration, the Head of State emphasised the necessity for a new educational system to spur quick development as Sri Lanka recovers from an economic crisis.
Wickremesinghe emphasised the need for quick and significant education reforms in order to have Sri Lanka’s educational system ready to become a global university in the future.
The President stressed during the event the need for revitalising Sri Lanka’s educational system and the need for the reforms to be planned with an eye towards the demands and advancements of the next two to three decades.
