Vishwa Fernando, a left-handed seamer from Sri Lanka, has been signed by Durham Cricket.
The left-arm quick will sign up with Durham before the LV=Insurance County Championship match on Tuesday, September 19, against Worcestershire, and he will be available for Durham’s remaining two games.
Given that Matthew Potts and Brydon Carse will be representing England in the final two LV=Insurance County Championship games, Durham moved swiftly to sign Vishwa Fernando as an international player.
Fernando had initially agreed to join Durham in order to improve the seam attack for the final three games of the season, but his arrival was delayed because he was unable to get a visa in time for the previous round of games.
