The Sri Lanka Railways Department has decided to offer the family of the young man who died on Tuesday (12 September) after falling from a train’s roof a sum of Rs. 500,000.
On Wednesday, September 13, Transport Minister Bandula Gunawardena reaffirmed this.
Last morning, an 18-year-old boy was on the roof of a packed train headed from Kandy to Colombo when he plunged to his death.
The young man apparently passed away on the spot when he crashed into the top of the Horape railway station and fell over the train’s roof.
