According to the President’s Media Division, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has given four state ministers the responsibility of managing the ministries under his control while he is travelling abroad.
State Minister Premitha Bandara Tennakoon was named the Acting Minister of Defence, and State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya was named the Acting Minister of Finance, according to the PMD.
Additionally, State Ministers Kanaka Herath and Anupa Pasqual have been selected to serve as Acting Ministers for the Ministries of Women, Children, and Social Empowerment and Technology and Investment Promotion, respectively.
At the request of his Cuban counterpart Miguel Diaz-Canel, President Wickremesinghe departed for Cuba this morning (Sept. 13) to deliver a speech at the G77+China Leaders’ Summit in Havana.
