During a trying time for both players and supporters, Dasun Shanaka accepted the position of captain of the Sri Lanka cricket team. With his cool-headed leadership style, he was able to bring stability and legitimacy to the national team.
Everyone, including myself, expected him to be the captain of SL for the CWC 2023 given his stellar leadership record, which includes the Asia Cup and a record ODI winning streak against any team. A new captain leading the team into such a crucial competition won’t be helpful at all. Before making a choice, I hope the interested parties will evaluate everything.
