The pledge of an additional US$19 million from the United States of America to support Sri Lanka’s development has been made public.

The statement was made yesterday (Sept. 20) during a ceremony at the Sri Lanka Ministry of Finance, according to the US Embassy in Colombo.

The Development Objective Grant Agreement between the Sri Lankan government and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) obligates the US $19.23 million (Rs 6.2 billion).

The United States’ continuous commitment to its partnership with Sri Lanka and to forging enduring people-to-people ties is demonstrated by this development aid, which will support initiatives promoting economic growth and democratic government.
