Tamil Nadu-SL high-speed passenger ferry service likely from October

Beginning in the first week of October 2023, a high-speed passenger ferry will run from Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu, India, to Kankesanthurai port in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka.

Indian media reports that EV Velu, the country’s minister of public works, made the comments to reporters on Wednesday after kicking off the dredging operations at the Nagapattinam port.

The minister also chaired a meeting to examine the progress of the construction of the high-speed ferry service between Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka.

At the Nagapattinam Port, the passenger terminal is being set up. According to reports, the construction will be finished before the ferry service begins.
