Wanindu Hasaranga, despite being named to the team, would not be traveling to India with the team on Tuesday (26), according to Chief Selector Pramodya Wickremasinghe.
The head of the Sri Lanka Cricket Medical Panel, Prof. Arjuna de Silva, stated that Wanindu Hasaranga’s chances of competing in the competition are “very remote” in the meantime.
The 26-year-old has a grade III hamstring injury, and medical personnel are working against the clock to determine how quickly and effectively they can get him back on the field.
