Tomorrow (26), according to the All Ceylon Nurses’ Association, there will be a sizable demonstration in front of the Ministry of Health protesting purported efforts to secretly change the nurses’ constitution.
S.B. Mediwatta, the association’s president, claimed that the authorities, who have no need to address the situation created by the nursing staff shortage in hospitals, have been working behind the scenes on a draught to change the nursing constitution.
However, in light of the ongoing economic crisis in the nation, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella stated that the administration is making the required adjustments to the country’s health system.
