The Colombo Port City will soon become a “Financial Zone,” according to a new law that will be adopted, President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced today (Sept. 26).
The Head of State announced that the new legislation would turn Port City into the “Colombo Financial Zone,” giving it power over offshore enterprises, while speaking at the 2023 Commercial Mediation Symposium held at the Hilton Hotel in Colombo this afternoon.
By the end of 2023, the relevant new law is anticipated to be passed, according to President Wickremesinghe.
