Today (Sept. 26), President Ranil Wickremesinghe will meet with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme review negotiations started on September 14; this meeting will be the final one since then between the IMF team and officials of the Sri Lankan government.
The two parties will sign an agreement on the second installment of the IMF rescue package after today’s meeting.
The first meeting for the IMF’s first review of the EFF for Sri Lanka began on September 14 in Colombo with representatives from the Sri Lankan government from the Finance State Minister Shehan Semasinghe, the President’s Senior Advisor on National Security and Chief of Staff Sagala Ratnayaka, the President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake, the Advisor to the President on Economic Affairs Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga, the Finance Ministry Secretary Mahinda Siriwardan
