Ali Sabry, the foreign minister of Sri Lanka, has criticised Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, for making absurd claims without any evidence to back them up.
When discussing the tensions between India and Canada with the Indian media outlet ANI, Minister Ali Sabry made the remark.
The allegations made by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that the Indian government murdered Sikh independence campaigner Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian grounds have strained relations between Canada and India.
Ali Sabry, the foreign minister of Sri Lanka, commented on the situation and said that some of the terrorists have taken refuge in Canada.
Minister Sabry noted that the Canadian prime minister has a penchant for making absurd claims without providing any supporting evidence, adding, “The same thing they did for Sri Lanka, a terrible, total falsehood about alleging that Sri Lanka had a genocide. Everyone is aware that there was no genocide in our nation.
Minister Sabry remarked, “This is questionable and we have dealt with it in the past.” He was referring to the fact that the Canadian prime minister had enthusiastically welcomed someone who had previously collaborated with the Nazis during World War II.
“I am not surprised that sometimes PM Trudeau comes out with outrageous and substantiated allegations,” Minister Sabry continued.
