Sri Lanka – Sri Lanka celebrated the International Day of Peace at the National Youth Services Council in Maharagama.
The event, organized by the Office for National Unity and Reconciliation, Ministry of Justice, brought together dignitaries including Minister of Justice Hon. Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapaksa, US Ambassador HE. Julie J. Chung, and Chairman of ONUR Mr. J.J. Ratnasiri. Ambassador Chung urged action, not just words, towards peace and highlighted the 75th year of Sri Lanka’s independence and US-Sri Lanka diplomatic ties. The event emphasized the collective responsibility for peace.
This is an opportune moment to reflect and act, particularly as we commemorate the 75th year of Sri Lanka’s independence as well as the diplomatic ties between the United States and Sri Lanka – a shared journey of growth, challenges, and mutual respect.
