According to Shehan Semasinghe, acting minister of finance, Sri Lanka must reach a staff-level agreement with the IMF review team before it can access the second tranche of the Extended Fund Facility, which is worth about 330 million US dollars.

Following the end of consultations with pertinent stakeholders, the Acting Finance Minister indicated confidence in obtaining the staff-level agreement during a media briefing today (28).

After the first review of Sri Lanka’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF) came to an end last night (September 27), the IMF team that had arrived on September 13 left the country.
