Due to the current torrential rains and poor weather, all government schools in the Matara District will be closed on October 5 and 6, according to Education Director of the Southern Province Ranjith Yapa.
The National Building and Research Organisation (NBRO) earlier today (October 4) issued both Level 1 (Yellow) and Level 2 (Amber) early landslip alerts for a number of locations in the Matara district.
