To guarantee job possibilities for qualified Sri Lankan workers in Japan, the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLBFE) recently signed a new deal with the Japanese company IM Japan.
The agreement was signed on Wednesday, October 11, according to a statement from the SLBFE, by Director General of IM Japan Masnobu Komiya and SLBFE Chairman AAM Hilmy.
The deal calls for job openings in three industries, including agriculture and the health sector, and grants chosen employees a five-year contract.
Manusha Nanayakkara, the minister of foreign employment and labour, has also spoken with IM Japan representatives.
The development of a training centre in Sri Lanka and the Japanese language tests for migrant workers from Sri Lanka were the main topics of discussion.
