Starting at midnight on Wednesday, October 11, it is illegal to hold tuition lessons, seminars, or other programmes that are geared towards the 2023 Grade 05 Scholarship Examination.
Amith Jayasundara, commissioner general of examinations, promised that those who continue to take such preparatory steps in defiance of the ban will face harsh punishment.
On October 15, the exam will be administered at 2,888 testing locations around the nation.
