According to reports, the Ministry of Health has taken action to immediately halt any medication supply orders placed with the firm Isolez Bio-Tech Pharma.

Following complaints of medicine scams involving the company, Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella ordered the actions.

The heads of all relevant institutions have been notified in writing about the pertinent decision, along with the secretary of the health ministry.

The orders provided to the concerned company as well as the supplies to be received have been suspended and cancelled, and any payments due to this company have also been suspended with immediate effect, per instructions from the health minister.

Orders and payments have been put on hold while the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) looks into the pertinent drug scams connected to the company.

The CID has received complaints asking for an investigation into the claims made against Isolez Bio-Tech Pharma.

The Attorney General has also received a letter from the Health Minister requesting legal counsel on the matter and urging expedited legal action.

The CID has so far received five complaints demanding an investigation into the alleged importation of a narcotic into Sri Lanka using fake documents and signatures and to stop the release of the substance onto the market, according to Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Talduwa.
