Next week, President Ranil Wickremesinghe will fly to China to take part in the summit commemorating the Belt and Road Initiative’s (10th) anniversary.
President Wickremesinghe will reportedly attend the summit on October 17 and 18 in China.
During his visit, he will also meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping to talk business.
The Chinese government launched the Belt and Road Initiative, also known as One Belt One Road in China, as a worldwide infrastructure development strategy in 2013. It aims to invest in more than 150 nations and international organisations.
