The Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau has detained a 34-year-old man after receiving reports of scamming over Rs. 9 million from offering internet jobs.
Officers from the fraud investigation bureau have located three bank accounts that belong to the suspect and have deposits totaling Rs. 7.2 million.
The suspect, who lives in the Denagoda neighbourhood of Karandeniya, was presented before Mount Lavinia Magistrate on Friday, October 13, according to the police. He has been detained in custody until October 27.
